Cocktail hour

Cocktail hour

[1 minute read] Bars and restaurants in Oslo will gladly sell you their cocktails at a premium, with a strictly enforced amount of alcohol of course. While cheap drinks are few and far between in Oslo, some establishments serve beverages worthy of the high price. Read on to discover our favorite cocktail bars in Oslo.
PAUL'S BOUTIQUE: DARRES GATE 1

Named after the Beastie Boys' second studio album, this little hole-in-the-wall bar is somewhat of a hidden treasure. Located at Alexander Kiellands Plass, away from the busiest part of Oslo, Paul's Boutique is frequented by locals and regulars. They play exclusively old school hip hop, and will occasionally host live music and club nights. We have yet to find a drink here that didn't impress us, but we keep coming back for the espresso martini.

HIMKOK: STORGATA 27

Not nearly as well hidden as Paul's Boutique, this bar has reached widespread acclaim for its hospitality and level of mixology talent. Ranked by Drinks International as the 19th best bar in the world (2019), Himkok occupies two stories in an old building in the center of Oslo. Several microbars, a distillery, a library, a herb garden and much more awaits you at this must-visit facility. Try one of their nordic inspired cocktails made from aquavit.
